Martin Hunt, Founder and Managing Partner
Martin Hunt is a managing director for Providence Friends Capital (PFC) and focuses on the lower middle market. Mr. Hunt manages PFC’s acquisition and strategy consulting activities. He led HWI Partners’ transition into PFC, was managing director for HWI Search Fund I and II, a portfolio board member for several firms and interim chief executive officer for a group of telecommunication structured cable assembly and installation companies.

Prior to his roles at PFC, Mr. Hunt directed marketing and strategy for two multi-billion dollar loan businesses for MBNA America Bank, now Bank of America, completed a $16 billion M&A deal for the Unicom Corporation to form the Exelon Corporation, the largest electric utility at the time, and consulted for American Management Systems, now CGI, in strategy, business process redesign, change management and information technology.

Prior to AMS, Mr. Hunt was an associate for Harvard Business School’s Professor Michael Porter expanding his theory of competitive advantage, during the founding stage of Porter’s Initiative for a Competitive Inner-city (ICIC). Mr. Hunt began his career at the Prudential Insurance Company of America where he completed their advanced management development program.

He has an MBA from Harvard Business School, a BA in Economics from Swarthmore College and is a member of the Harvard Club of New York, the Pyramid Club in Philadelphia and the Harvard Business School Alumni Clubs of New York, Philadelphia and Washington, DC.

Mr. Hunt is a published author and has volunteered his time in a variety of roles including president and board member of the Harvard Business School Club of Philadelphia, member of the Swarthmore College McCabe scholarship selection committee, undergraduate alumni interviewer for Harvard College and a member of the finance committee at the Sanford School of Delaware.

2010-2014 HWI debt provider-appointed board members vote to sell Custom Cable to affiliate of debt provider in a 363 sale. HWI shareholders sue ComVest. ComVest and HWI settle out of court and pursue law firm for inadequate documents.

2011-2013 Martin Hunt is elected President of the Harvard Business School Club of Philadelphia. HWI Partners backs several Internet and App businesses.
